Dr. Phillips specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological and educational evaluations to help understand your child's unique profile of strengths and challenges. My goal is to provide a thorough assessment that leads to meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.

Here’s a step-by-step overview of what you can expect during the evaluation process.

Initial Intake Meeting

Our partnership begins with an initial intake meeting involving parents or guardians. During this session, Dr. Phillips will gather detailed background information about your child's developmental history, educational progress, previous supports/interventions, and any concerns you may have. This is an opportunity for you to share your observations and ask any questions about the evaluation process.

Review of Previous Records

Dr. Phillips will review any previous medical, educational, or psychological records you provide. This helps her understand your child's history and identify any patterns or areas that may need further exploration.

Rating Forms

To gain a comprehensive view of your child's functioning, Dr. Phillips asks parents, teachers, and others who know your child well to complete rating forms. These forms offer valuable insights into your child's behavior and abilities in different settings.

Classroom Observation

Dr. Phillips may include a classroom visit in order see how a child behaves in their everyday environment, providing context that cannot be captured through tests or questionnaires alone.  By observing the child in a natural setting, Dr. Phillips can see how they interact with their surroundings, peers, and adults without the artificiality of a clinical setting.

Testing Across Multiple Domains

Dr. Phillips’ evaluations are thorough and cover a wide range of cognitive and emotional areas. See the dropdown for the testing she performs.

Feedback Meeting with Parents or Guardians

Once the evaluation is complete, Dr. Phillips will hold a feedback meeting with parents or guardians to discuss findings, explain what they mean, and provide tailored recommendations to support your child's development and learning.

Optional Feedback to School

If interested, Dr. Phillips can share her findings and recommendations with your child's school. This can help teachers and school staff better understand and support your child's needs.

Optional Child-Friendly Feedback

Dr. Phillips also offers the option of providing feedback directly to your child in a way that is understandable and supportive, helping them to recognize their strengths and areas for growth.

Comprehensive Report

You will receive a detailed written report that includes all of Dr. Phillips’ findings, interpretations, and recommendations. This report can be a valuable resource for you, your child's teachers, and any other professionals involved in their care.
