when children can, they do.
and when they aren't, it's usually because
something is getting in the way.
My practice is deeply rooted in a compassionate and constructive approach to child development, emphasizing the inherent capabilities of all children and the importance of identifying and addressing obstacles to their success. The core principle that guides my practice is my belief that "when children can, they do. And when they aren't, it's usually because something is getting in the way." I fundamentally believe that children naturally strive to succeed and that difficulties in achieving their goals are indicative of underlying challenges – neurodevelopmental or social-emotional – rather than a lack of effort or will.
As a parent myself, I understand the profound anxiety that parents experience when they sense that something is amiss with their child or their child’s development. I aim to alleviate this anxiety by forming a collaborate partnership with, not only you and your child, but also the broader network of individuals who play a role in your child's life, including educators, therapists, and coaches. My goal is to help every child tap into their potential and find their own happiness, confidence, and fulfillment. And, I recognize that it takes a village...
I hope to provide every family with a personalized "manual" for their child, including a tailored set of insights and strategies that demystify their child’s unique cognitive, learning, and social-emotional profile. I am committed to ensuring that the results of my evaluations are relevant, accessible, pragmatic, and comprehensible to all involved parties, including the child, themself. I believe, fundamentally, that information is a powerful tool that can equip parents with the knowledge they need to support their children's journey toward becoming joyful, lifelong learners. I also aim to empower children, alongside their support systems, with a deep understanding of their individual strengths and challenges.
My work is driven by a firm belief in the potential of all humans, along with a passion for understanding human cognition and its influence on learning and behavior. I combine this passion with my professional expertise to offer assessments and subsequent roadmaps that are not only scientifically grounded but also imbued with empathy and a commitment to unlocking each child's unique potential. Ultimately, my style of practice is one that marries hope with practicality, guiding families through the complexities of development with a clear, compassionate, and informed voice.
